These easy and delicious apple bars feature a soft, spiced cake base topped with tender cinnamon apples and a simple glaze.

For the Crust:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Beat in the eggs and vanilla. Gradually mix in the flour, baking powder, and salt until a soft dough forms.
- Spread two-thirds of the dough into the prepared pan. In a separate bowl, toss the diced apples with cinnamon. Sprinkle the apples evenly over the dough.
- Drop the remaining dough by spoonfuls over the apple layer. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool completely.
- Whisk together the powdered sugar and milk to make a glaze. Drizzle over the cooled bars before cutting into squares.
