Description

A delightful dessert combining apples with brownie texture for a unique treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups apples, peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and grease an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix chopped apples and sugar; let stand for 10 minutes.
  3. Stir in melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the apple mixture and stir until just combined.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.

Notes

For a healthier version, substitute some sugar with applesauce.
