Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with sour cream, and mix until just combined.
- For the filling, beat cream cheese, sugar, and cinnamon until smooth.
- Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan, layer with diced apples and cream cheese mixture, then top with the remaining batter.
- Sprinkle brown sugar over the top and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing and serving.
Notes
For best results, use fresh, crisp apples like Granny Smith. This cake can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
