- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 1/4 cup green olives, sliced
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1 tablespoon capers
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add onion, garlic, and bell pepper; cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add ground beef; cook and stir until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes.
- Stir in tomato sauce, white wine, olives, raisins, capers, cumin, and oregano.
- Simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until flavors meld.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot with rice.
Notes
For a spicier version, add a diced jalapeรฑo.
