Description

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 1/4 cup green olives, sliced
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1 tablespoon capers
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add onion, garlic, and bell pepper; cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add ground beef; cook and stir until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes.
  4. Stir in tomato sauce, white wine, olives, raisins, capers, cumin, and oregano.
  5. Simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until flavors meld.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot with rice.

Notes

For a spicier version, add a diced jalapeรฑo.
