- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes
- 1/2 cup chopped kalamata olives
- 2 eggs
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, olives, eggs, garlic, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place in a greased loaf pan.
- Drizzle olive oil over the top.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Serve with a side salad or marinara sauce for an authentic Sicilian touch. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
