Description

This simple baked ziti recipe is comforting, flavorful, and easy to prepare with ground beef, cheese, and marinara sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights or family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ziti pasta
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 oz jar marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
  2. Cook ziti pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain.
  3. In a skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, cook until softened.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. In a baking dish, layer half the cooked ziti, then the meat sauce, ricotta, and half the cheeses.
  6. Top with remaining ziti, sauce, and cheeses.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  8. Let rest 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes. Leftovers store well in the fridge for up to 3 days.
