Description

This Beef Lombardi is a classic comfort food casserole featuring layers of ground beef, pasta, and cheese, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 8 oz pasta, cooked and drained
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until beef is browned and onions are tender. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the cooked pasta, then half of the meat sauce, and sprinkle with half of the cheeses.
  5. Repeat layers with the remaining pasta, sauce, and cheeses.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.
  7. Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the meat sauce. This recipe can be prepared ahead and refrigerated before baking.
