This Beef Lombardi is a classic comfort food casserole featuring layers of ground beef, pasta, and cheese, perfect for family dinners.

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 8 oz pasta, cooked and drained
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until beef is browned and onions are tender. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the cooked pasta, then half of the meat sauce, and sprinkle with half of the cheeses.
- Repeat layers with the remaining pasta, sauce, and cheeses.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the meat sauce. This recipe can be prepared ahead and refrigerated before baking.
