A delicious fall treat featuring tender apple pieces wrapped in a gooey caramel filling, all encased in a crispy dough.

For the Crust:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup ice water
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and finely diced
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 2 tablespoons coarse sugar (for sprinkling)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a food processor, combine flour, butter, sugar, and salt. Pulse until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Gradually add ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until dough comes together. Form into a ball, wrap in plastic, and chill for 30 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix diced apples, caramel sauce, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.
  5. Roll out dough on a floured surface to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut into 4-inch circles.
  6. Place a spoonful of apple-caramel mixture in the center of each circle. Fold edges over and pinch to seal.
  7. Brush with egg wash, sprinkle with coarse sugar, and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
