Ingredients

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups chopped kale
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add Italian sausage and cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces.
  2. Add diced onion and minced garlic to the pot. Sautรฉ until onions are translucent and fragrant.
  3. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
  4. Reduce heat to low and let the soup simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Add chopped kale and cook for another 5 minutes until wilted. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve hot with extra Parmesan cheese on top if desired.
