Description

A delicious casserole inspired by the famous Big Mac burger, combining ground beef, cheese, and special sauce in an easy-to-make dish.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup pickles, diced
  • 1/2 cup Thousand Island dressing
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 cup crushed Ritz crackers
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For the bun layer:
  • 4 hamburger buns, torn into pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, add onion and cook until onion is soft. Season with salt and pepper. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a 9×13 inch baking dish, layer half the torn bun pieces.
  4. Spread half the beef mixture over the buns, then layer half the cheeses, lettuce, pickles, and dressing.
  5. Repeat layers, ending with cheeses on top.
  6. Sprinkle crushed crackers over the top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and golden.
  8. Serve hot.

Notes

This casserole is best served warm. You can add diced tomatoes for extra freshness.
