Description

A delightful appetizer featuring creamy brie, crisp apple slices, sweetened walnuts, and fresh thyme.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 8 ounces brie cheese, sliced
  • 2 medium apples, thinly sliced (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, roughly chopped
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for brushing
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Brush the baguette slices with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet and bake for 5-7 minutes until golden and crisp.
  4. In a small skillet, toast the walnuts over medium heat for 2-3 minutes, then drizzle with honey and stir until coated; set aside.
  5. Remove the baguette slices from the oven and top each with a slice of brie and apple.
  6. Return to the oven for 2-3 minutes until the brie begins to melt.
  7. Remove from the oven, top with honeyed walnuts and fresh thyme.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a vegan version, substitute brie with a vegan alternative cheese.
