Description

Delicious butter tart squares with a flaky crust and sweet filling.


Ingredients

Scale
  • Crust:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Filling:
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup raisins

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, cream together 1/4 cup butter and 2 tablespoons brown sugar until smooth. Stir in flour. Press into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  3. Bake for 15 minutes in the preheated oven.
  4. In another bowl, mix together 1 cup brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla. Stir in raisins. Pour over the baked crust.
  5. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.

Notes

For a nuttier version, add chopped walnuts to the filling.
