Description
Delicious butter tart squares with a flaky crust and sweet filling.
Ingredients

- Crust:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- Filling:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup corn syrup
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup raisins
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
- In a medium bowl, cream together 1/4 cup butter and 2 tablespoons brown sugar until smooth. Stir in flour. Press into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Bake for 15 minutes in the preheated oven.
- In another bowl, mix together 1 cup brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla. Stir in raisins. Pour over the baked crust.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
Notes
For a nuttier version, add chopped walnuts to the filling.
