Description

A delicious twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich featuring fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices of bread
  • 4 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Butter one side of each bread slice.
  2. On the non-buttered side of one slice, layer mozzarella, tomato slices, and basil leaves.
  3. Top with the other bread slice, buttered side out.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the sandwich for 2-3 minutes per side until golden and cheese is melted.

Notes

For the best flavor, use ripe tomatoes and fresh basil. Serve immediately.
