For the Crust:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups diced apples
- 12 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 3/4 cup confectioners’ sugar
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. In a separate large bowl, beat butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Fold in the diced apples. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
