Description

Sweet dates are stuffed with creamy feta and caramelized onions, then topped with crunchy toasted walnuts for a perfect appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 10 Medjool dates, pitted
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 100g feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook slowly for 20-25 minutes until caramelized, stirring occasionally.
  2. While onions are cooking, preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and spread walnuts on a baking sheet. Toast for 5-7 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Cut a slit in each date and stuff with a teaspoon of crumbled feta and a bit of caramelized onion.
  4. Top each stuffed date with toasted walnuts.
  5. Serve immediately or chill for later.

Notes

For best results, ensure onions are fully caramelized to achieve a sweet flavor. This recipe can be made ahead and refrigerated.
