A delightful salad combining sweet caramelized pears with tangy blue cheese, perfect for a light lunch or elegant starter.

For the Crust:

  • 2 ripe pears, sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 cups mixed salad greens
  • 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 1/4 cup walnuts, toasted
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and add brown sugar. Stir until combined.
  2. Add pear slices and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until caramelized. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, toss salad greens with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  4. Divide greens among plates, top with caramelized pears, blue cheese, and toasted walnuts.
  5. Drizzle any remaining caramel sauce from the skillet over the salad and serve immediately.
