Description

These elegant snowflake-shaped puffs feature caramelized pears and creamy Brie cheese wrapped in flaky puff pastry, perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 2 ripe pears, thinly sliced
  • 4 oz Brie cheese, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 egg, beaten for egg wash
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and add the sliced pears, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the pears are caramelized and softened, stirring occasionally.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut into snowflake shapes using a cookie cutter or knife.
  4. Place a slice of Brie on each pastry shape, then top with caramelized pears.
  5. Fold the edges of the pastry to form a snowflake design, brush with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, ensure the Brie is made without animal rennet. These puffs are best served warm and can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
