Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ripe pears, peeled and sliced
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 4 ounces brie cheese, sliced
- 1 egg, beaten for egg wash
- Pinch of cinnamon
- Optional: Honey for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and add the sliced pears and brown sugar. Cook for 5-7 minutes until pears are caramelized and softened, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into 4-inch circles or desired snowflake shapes using a cookie cutter.
- Place a slice of brie in the center of each pastry circle, top with caramelized pears, and fold the edges to create a snowflake pattern, pinching to seal.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with cinnamon.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and puffed. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
- Drizzle with honey if desired before serving.
