For the Crust:
- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup cream cheese
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1 cup heavy cream
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and baking soda. Add eggs, oil, and buttermilk, then blend until smooth.
- In another bowl, beat cream cheese with orange zest and sugar. Pour in orange juice and mix until creamy.
- Combine the chocolate batter and cheesecake mixture, and pour into prepared pans.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let it cool.
- In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream with vanilla extract until soft peaks form. Spread over the cooled cake layers.
