Description

A decadent chocolate cake layered with fresh strawberry mousse and dipped in rich chocolate for a delightful dessert.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat eggs and sugar until light and fluffy, then add vanilla.
  4. Fold in the dry ingredients and pour batter into the pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
  5. While cooling, prepare mousse by blending strawberries and folding into whipped cream.
  6. Layer the mousse on the cooled cake and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  7. Melt chocolate and dip the cake edges, then chill until set.

Notes

For best results, use ripe strawberries and high-quality chocolate. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
