- 40 saltine crackers
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- Optional: Chopped nuts or sprinkles for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil and arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar together, stirring constantly until it boils. Let it boil for 3 minutes without stirring.
- Pour the hot mixture over the crackers and spread evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top. Let them sit for a few minutes to melt, then spread the chocolate evenly.
- Optional: Sprinkle with nuts or sprinkles while the chocolate is still warm. Let cool completely, then break into pieces and serve.
