Description

A sweet and salty holiday treat made with saltine crackers, caramel, and chocolate.


Ingredients

  • 40 saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • Optional: Chopped nuts or sprinkles for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil and arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar together, stirring constantly until it boils. Let it boil for 3 minutes without stirring.
  3. Pour the hot mixture over the crackers and spread evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until bubbly.
  4. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top. Let them sit for a few minutes to melt, then spread the chocolate evenly.
  5. Optional: Sprinkle with nuts or sprinkles while the chocolate is still warm. Let cool completely, then break into pieces and serve.
