Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 ounces goat cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup fruit jam (such as raspberry or fig)
  • 1 egg, beaten for egg wash
  • Fresh herbs like thyme for garnish
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8-inch thickness.
  3. Cut the pastry into desired shapes, such as squares or circles, using a knife or cookie cutter.
  4. Spread a thin layer of goat cheese on each pastry piece, leaving a small border around the edges.
  5. Top the goat cheese with a teaspoon of jam in the center of each piece.
  6. Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before garnishing with fresh herbs and serving.
