- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in egg yolks and vanilla.
- Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until combined.
- If desired, divide dough and tint with food coloring.
- Press dough through a cookie press onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 6-8 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool on wire racks.
Notes
For best results, use a high-quality cookie press and chill dough if it becomes too soft.
