Description

Festive buttery cookies shaped with a cookie press, perfect for holiday decorating.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in egg yolks and vanilla.
  4. Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until combined.
  5. If desired, divide dough and tint with food coloring.
  6. Press dough through a cookie press onto ungreased baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 6-8 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Cool on wire racks.

Notes

For best results, use a high-quality cookie press and chill dough if it becomes too soft.
