For the Crust:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Green food coloring
- Sprinkles or candies for decoration
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract. Gradually mix in the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add green food coloring to achieve desired shade. Mix until dough forms.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness. Use tree-shaped cookie cutters to cut out cookies. Place cookies on prepared baking sheets. Decorate with sprinkles or candies and bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
