Description

A comforting and hearty casserole that’s a staple at community gatherings. This one-dish meal combines savory ground beef, tender vegetables, and creamy sauce with a crispy tater tot topping.


Ingredients

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can condensed cream of celery soup
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 (32 oz) bag frozen tater tots

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef with the diced onion until the beef is no longer pink and the onion is soft. Add the minced garlic and cook for one more minute. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, cream of celery soup, milk, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and black pepper until well combined. Fold in the frozen mixed vegetables.
  4. Pour the beef and vegetable mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it into an even layer.
  5. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer over the top of the beef mixture.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy and the filling is hot and bubbly. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
