For the Crust:
- For the Cake: 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- For the Topping: 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- For the Glaze: 2 cups powdered sugar
- 5 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the 3 cups flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the milk, eggs, 2 tsp vanilla, and 1/2 cup melted butter. Mix until just combined. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
- In a medium bowl, mix the softened butter, brown sugar, 2 tbsp flour, and cinnamon until well combined. Drop spoonfuls of this mixture evenly over the cake batter. Use a knife to swirl the topping into the batter.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the cake is baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, 5 tbsp milk, and 1 tsp vanilla to make the glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the warm cake.
