Description

A buttery, crunchy toffee perfect for holiday gifting, made with simple ingredients for a classic treat.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a heavy saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  3. Stir in sugar and salt; cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches 300 degrees F (hard crack stage).
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly.
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee and let melt, then spread evenly.
  7. Sprinkle with chopped almonds and let cool completely.
  8. Break into pieces and serve.
