- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped almonds
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a heavy saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Stir in sugar and salt; cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches 300 degrees F (hard crack stage).
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee and let melt, then spread evenly.
- Sprinkle with chopped almonds and let cool completely.
- Break into pieces and serve.
