- 2 beef steaks (about 1 inch thick)
- 4 ripe tomatoes, diced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup red wine (optional)
Instructions
- Season the steaks with salt, pepper, and oregano.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear the steaks for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
- Remove steaks and set aside; in the same skillet, add onion and garlic, sauté for 5 minutes.
- Add tomatoes and red wine, bring to a simmer.
- Return steaks to the skillet, cover, and cook for 15-20 minutes until steaks are tender and sauce thickens.
Notes
Pair with crusty bread or pasta for a complete meal. Adjust seasoning as needed.
