Description

A flavorful Italian dish with tender steak simmered in a rich tomato sauce.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 beef steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • 4 ripe tomatoes, diced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup red wine (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the steaks with salt, pepper, and oregano.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear the steaks for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
  4. Remove steaks and set aside; in the same skillet, add onion and garlic, sauté for 5 minutes.
  5. Add tomatoes and red wine, bring to a simmer.
  6. Return steaks to the skillet, cover, and cook for 15-20 minutes until steaks are tender and sauce thickens.

Notes

Pair with crusty bread or pasta for a complete meal. Adjust seasoning as needed.
