Description
A comforting dish featuring tender chicken breasts in a creamy apple cider sauce, topped with crispy prosciutto and melted Gruyere cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
For the Crust:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup apple cider
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 slices prosciutto
- 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken and cook until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes per side.
- Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute. Stir in apple cider, scraping the bottom of the pan to loosen any browned bits.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and pour in the heavy cream. Simmer for about 15 minutes, until chicken is cooked through and sauce is thickened. Meanwhile, cook prosciutto in a separate pan until crispy. Top chicken with Gruyere cheese, allow it to melt, then serve with crispy prosciutto on top.
