Description

Crispy phyllo rolls filled with feta cheese, drizzled with a spicy honey sauce, perfect as an appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 8 sheets phyllo dough
  • 200g feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix the crumbled feta cheese with the beaten egg, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Lay out one sheet of phyllo dough and brush it lightly with olive oil. Place a second sheet on top and brush again.
  4. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the feta mixture along the short edge of the phyllo sheets.
  5. Roll the phyllo tightly around the filling to form a log, then cut into 2-inch pieces and place on the baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden and crispy.
  7. While baking, heat honey in a small saucepan with red pepper flakes until warmed through.
  8. Drizzle the spicy honey over the baked rolls and serve immediately.

Notes

For a spicier version, increase the red pepper flakes. Best served fresh and hot.
