Ingredients

- 3 pounds beef chuck roast
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 1 bay leaf
- 3 whole black peppercorns
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 14 ounce can beef broth
- Hoagie rolls, for serving
Instructions
- Place the beef roast in the slow cooker.
- In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, beef bouillon, bay leaf, peppercorns, rosemary, thyme, and garlic powder; pour over the roast.
- Add the beef broth to the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, until beef is tender.
- Remove the roast and shred it with two forks.
- Strain the cooking juices to serve as au jus.
- Serve the shredded beef on hoagie rolls with au jus on the side.
Notes
For best results, let the beef rest before shredding. Pairs well with fries.
