Description

Slow-cooked beef sandwiches with au jus, perfect for an easy meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 whole black peppercorns
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 14 ounce can beef broth
  • Hoagie rolls, for serving

Instructions

  1. Place the beef roast in the slow cooker.
  2. In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, beef bouillon, bay leaf, peppercorns, rosemary, thyme, and garlic powder; pour over the roast.
  3. Add the beef broth to the slow cooker.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, until beef is tender.
  5. Remove the roast and shred it with two forks.
  6. Strain the cooking juices to serve as au jus.
  7. Serve the shredded beef on hoagie rolls with au jus on the side.

Notes

For best results, let the beef rest before shredding. Pairs well with fries.
