Description
An incredibly moist and rich chocolate cake, pierced and filled with a creamy chocolate pudding, then topped with chocolate frosting and chocolate chips for the ultimate chocolate lover’s dream.

For the Crust:
- 1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate fudge cake mix, plus ingredients to prepare it (eggs, oil, water)
- 2 boxes (3.9 oz each) instant chocolate pudding mix
- 4 cups cold whole milk
- 1 container (16 oz) chocolate frosting
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Whipped cream for serving (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Prepare and bake the chocolate cake in a 9×13 inch baking dish according to package directions. Let the cake cool for 15-20 minutes after baking.
- Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the top of the warm cake, about 1 inch apart.
- In a large bowl, vigorously whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mixes and cold milk for 2 minutes until it begins to thicken. Immediately pour the pudding evenly over the warm cake, working to fill all the holes.
- Place the cake in the refrigerator for 2 hours to set completely and allow the pudding to soak in.
- Spread the chocolate frosting evenly over the chilled cake. Sprinkle the top generously with chocolate chips. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Slice and optionally top with whipped cream.
