Description

A savory snack mix featuring the tangy flavor of dill pickles combined with crunchy Chex cereal.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 3 cups Corn Chex cereal
  • 1 cup pretzel sticks
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons dried dill weed
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup dill pickle juice
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the Rice Chex, Corn Chex, and pretzel sticks.
  3. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Stir in the dried dill weed, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
  4. Add the dill pickle juice to the butter mixture and stir until well combined.
  5. Pour the butter mixture over the cereal mixture and toss gently to coat evenly.
  6. Spread the mixture evenly on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even coating.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool completely before serving.

Notes

For a spicier version, add cayenne pepper to the butter mixture. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
