Description

A quick and flavorful stir fry featuring tender chicken coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, perfect for a weeknight dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced into thin strips
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced chicken to the skillet and season with salt and pepper. Stir fry until the chicken is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Add garlic and ginger, stirring for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the bell pepper, broccoli, and carrot to the skillet. Stir fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together honey and soy sauce. Pour the mixture into the skillet with the vegetables.
  6. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss everything together to coat in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the sauce. This recipe pairs well with rice or noodles.
