A simple and effortless take on classic pecan pie, perfect for beginners.


Ingredients

  • Crust:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Filling:
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour and brown sugar for the crust. Stir in melted butter until combined.
  3. Press the crust mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake for 15 minutes.
  4. While the crust bakes, whisk together corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, and salt for the filling.
  5. Stir in pecan halves.
  6. Pour the filling over the baked crust and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until set.
  7. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
