A simple and flavorful recipe for homemade pickled shrimp, perfect for appetizers or snacks.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil and add the shrimp. Cook for 2-3 minutes until shrimp are pink and opaque. Drain and let cool.
  2. In a large bowl, combine vinegar, olive oil, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, bay leaf, and mustard seeds.
  3. Add the cooled shrimp to the mixture and stir to coat.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 24 hours to allow flavors to meld.
  5. Serve chilled as an appetizer.

Notes

For best results, use fresh shrimp and let it marinate overnight. Adjust seasoning to taste.
