- 1 pound fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
Instructions
- Bring a pot of water to a boil and add the shrimp. Cook for 2-3 minutes until shrimp are pink and opaque. Drain and let cool.
- In a large bowl, combine vinegar, olive oil, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, bay leaf, and mustard seeds.
- Add the cooled shrimp to the mixture and stir to coat.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 24 hours to allow flavors to meld.
- Serve chilled as an appetizer.
Notes
For best results, use fresh shrimp and let it marinate overnight. Adjust seasoning to taste.
