Description

A festive holiday dessert combining eggnog and gingerbread flavors with the classic tiramisu style.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups eggnog
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 cups gingerbread cookies, crushed
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1 tablespoon rum or brandy (optional)
  • Cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together eggnog, heavy cream, mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg until smooth.
  2. In a separate shallow dish, combine the cooled coffee and rum or brandy if using.
  3. Quickly dip half of the crushed gingerbread cookies into the coffee mixture and layer them at the bottom of a serving dish.
  4. Spread half of the eggnog mixture over the cookie layer.
  5. Repeat the layers with the remaining cookies and eggnog mixture.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to set.
  7. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder.

Notes

For a non-alcoholic version, omit the rum or brandy. Chill thoroughly for best texture.
