Description

Soft and buttery sugar cookies infused with the flavors of eggnog, perfect for holiday baking.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup eggnog
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Additional sugar for rolling

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, nutmeg, and salt; set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg, eggnog, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  6. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  7. Roll dough into 1-inch balls, then roll in sugar to coat.
  8. Place on prepared baking sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a festive touch, add sprinkles before baking. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
