Description

An impressive and delicious holiday appetizer arranged in the shape of a Christmas tree, featuring a variety of cured meats, cheeses, and accompaniments.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb assorted cured meats (e.g., salami, prosciutto, coppa)
  • 1 lb assorted cheeses (e.g., cheddar, brie, gouda), cut into cubes and slices
  • 1 cup mixed olives
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup cornichons or pickles
  • 1/2 cup mixed nuts
  • 1/2 cup dried fruits (e.g., apricots, cranberries)
  • 1 bunch fresh rosemary
  • Crackers and breadsticks for serving

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Arrange a row of crackers or breadsticks vertically on a large board or platter to form the ‘trunk’ of the tree.
  2. Starting above the trunk, create the tree shape by layering slices of meat and cheese in overlapping rows, decreasing in length as you go up to form a triangle.
  3. Fill in the spaces with clusters of olives, tomatoes, nuts, and dried fruits to create colorful ‘ornaments’.
  4. Tuck sprigs of fresh rosemary between the ingredients to resemble Christmas tree branches.
  5. Serve immediately, allowing guests to pull items from the board.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
