For the Crust:

  • 2 pounds beef short ribs
  • 3 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Sear the beef short ribs on all sides until browned, then remove from pot.
  2. Add onions to the pot and cook until caramelized, stirring frequently. Add garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Return the short ribs to the pot, add beef broth, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer for 2-3 hours until the beef is tender.
