Description

A simple, savory side dish where tender cabbage is pan-fried with crispy bacon, sweet onion, and aromatic garlic.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 6 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 large yellow onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large head cabbage, cored and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Place the chopped bacon in a large skillet and cook over medium-high heat until crispy, about 10 minutes.
  2. Add the diced onion to the bacon and drippings; cook and stir until the onion becomes translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
  3. Add the sliced cabbage and seasonings. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and begins to caramelize, about 15-20 minutes.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
