Description
An impressive and decadent appetizer featuring a hollowed bread bowl filled with melted brie, crispy prosciutto, garlic, and a spicy-sweet hot honey drizzle.

For the Crust:
- 1 large round sourdough bread loaf
- 1 (8 oz) wheel of brie cheese
- 4 oz prosciutto, chopped
- 3 tbsp butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup hot honey
- 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Slice the top off the sourdough loaf and hollow out the center, leaving a 1-inch thick shell. Tear the removed bread into bite-sized pieces.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped prosciutto until crispy. Remove and set aside.
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter and minced garlic. Brush the inside of the bread bowl and the bread pieces with the garlic butter.
- Place the brie wheel into the bread bowl. Top with the crispy prosciutto and half of the hot honey. Place the lid back on top and put the entire bowl and the bread pieces on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is completely melted and gooey. Remove from oven, take off the lid, and drizzle with the remaining hot honey. Sprinkle with thyme and red pepper flakes. Serve immediately with the toasted bread pieces for dipping.
