- For the brownie layer:

- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, cream together 1 cup softened butter, 1 cup granulated sugar, and 1 cup brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Step 3: Beat in 2 eggs and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract. Gradually add 2 cups flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon salt, mixing until combined. Fold in 2 cups chocolate chips.
- Step 4: For the brownie layer, in another bowl, whisk together 1 cup cocoa powder, 1/2 cup flour, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
- Step 5: In a saucepan, melt 1 cup butter, then stir in 2 cups granulated sugar until dissolved. Remove from heat and whisk in 4 eggs and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract.
- Step 6: Combine the wet and dry brownie ingredients, then spread the brownie batter evenly in the prepared pan.
- Step 7: Drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough over the brownie batter and gently swirl with a knife.
- Step 8: Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with fudgy crumbs. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
