Description

A luxurious beef stroganoff recipe by Gordon Ramsay, featuring tender beef in a creamy mustard sauce with mushrooms, perfect for a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 700g beef fillet or sirloin, cut into strips
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 250g button mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 300ml beef stock
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 200ml sour cream
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the butter in a large frying pan over medium heat and sautรฉ the onions for 2-3 minutes until softened but not coloured.
  2. Add the sliced mushrooms and continue to cook for another 3 minutes until the mushrooms are tender.
  3. Increase the heat and add the beef strips, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes until browned, stirring occasionally.
  4. Pour in the beef stock and bring to a simmer. Stir in the Dijon mustard and allow the sauce to reduce slightly.
  5. Lower the heat and stir in the sour cream. Heat gently for 1-2 minutes without boiling to prevent curdling.
  6. Serve immediately over rice or pasta, garnished with fresh parsley.
