Description

These flavorful Greek chicken meatballs are made with ground chicken, herbs, and spices, served with a refreshing homemade tzatziki sauce.


Ingredients

  • 500g ground chicken
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For Tzatziki: 1 cup Greek yogurt, 1 cucumber (grated and drained), 2 garlic cloves (minced), 1 tablespoon fresh dill, Juice of 1 lemon, Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, egg, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the meatballs for 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
  4. For the tzatziki, in a separate bowl, mix Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, dill, lemon juice, and salt.
  5. Serve the meatballs with the tzatziki sauce on the side.

Notes

For best results, refrigerate the meatball mixture for 30 minutes before forming balls. Pairs well with pita bread and salad.
