Description

This hearty dish features large pasta shells stuffed with a savory ground beef mixture, cheese, and herbs, baked to perfection for a family-friendly meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 24 jumbo pasta shells, cooked and drained
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until beef is browned and onions are soft; drain fat.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cooked beef mixture with ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Stuff each cooked pasta shell with the beef and cheese mixture.
  5. Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Arrange the stuffed shells in the dish and top with remaining marinara sauce.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  8. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with spinach and mushrooms. Ensure pasta shells are al dente before stuffing to avoid sogginess.
