- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
- 24 jumbo pasta shells, cooked and drained
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until beef is browned and onions are soft; drain fat.
- In a bowl, mix the cooked beef mixture with ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Stuff each cooked pasta shell with the beef and cheese mixture.
- Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
- Arrange the stuffed shells in the dish and top with remaining marinara sauce.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with spinach and mushrooms. Ensure pasta shells are al dente before stuffing to avoid sogginess.
