Description

Delicious heart-shaped cookies with a jam filling, perfect for holidays like Valentine’s Day.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Jam (such as raspberry or strawberry) for filling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
  6. Roll the dough into small balls and place on the baking sheet. Press your thumb into the center of each ball to make an indentation.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool slightly, then fill the indentations with jam.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to a week. For a festive touch, use heart-shaped cookie cutters.
