Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a heart-shaped baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until well combined.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture and beat until smooth.
- Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt, then stir until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Cut into heart shapes if not using a shaped pan and serve.
Notes
For best results, use a heart-shaped mold. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
