Description

These heart-shaped shortbread cookies are infused with fresh strawberry flavor, perfect for Valentine’s Day or any special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the vanilla extract and chopped strawberries, mixing well.
  3. Gradually stir in the flour and salt until a dough forms.
  4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness and cut into heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
  7. Place the shapes on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow to cool on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

For best results, use ripe strawberries and ensure the dough is chilled to maintain shape. Store in an airtight container.
