- 4 cups chopped apples
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 package pectin
Instructions
- Prepare the apples: Wash, peel, and chop 4 cups of apples into small pieces.
- Combine ingredients: In a large pot, mix the chopped apples, 1 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg, and 2 tablespoons lemon juice.
- Cook the mixture: Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently. Add 1 package of pectin and continue boiling for 10 minutes or until thickened.
- Jar the jam: Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Pour into sterilized jars and seal.
- Store: Allow to cool completely before storing in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
